Newmeyer Obtains C.E.I. Certification
September 24, 2008/Phoenix, Ariz.: Robert Newmeyer, C.E.I., a project manager for Vertical Transportation Excellence (VTX), recently passed the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Certified Elevator Inspector (C.E.I.) test. VTX, an elevator and escalator consulting firm, serves aviation, education, government, healthcare, commercial, retail, recreation, and public transit clients across the United States.
Based in the firm’s Phoenix, Ariz., office, Newmeyer is responsible for coordinating the design of elevators, escalators, moving walk systems, and related vertical transportation systems, as well as vertical transportation consulting services. Newmeyer has 28 years invested in the elevator industry and has held various sales and management positions in Philadelphia, Pa.; Washington, D.C.; Phoenix; Tucson, Ariz; and San Francisco, Calif. He is experienced in the design, modernization, maintenance, and project management of elevators, escalators, moving walks, and lifts.
Newmeyer joins 14 other VTX staff members as C.E.I.s. In addition to this certification, his experience within the industry provides the foundation and direction for VTX to secure inspection, consulting, design-build, and construction administration projects.
VTX operates as a division of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm.
