WMATA Issues Significant Task Order to VTX^®

June 30, 2010/Harrisburg, Pa.: Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has issued Vertical Transportation Excellence (VTX) a significant task order on its existing general engineering contract for an assessment of the maintenance and repair procedures for the elevators and escalators maintained by WMATA. The assessment will include an audit of several key stations and a review of the program and recommendations for improved efficiencies in the day-to-day maintenance of the elevator and escalator system. VTX is also reviewing WMATA’s preventive maintenance process and database work order system.
