Education
Whether education institutions are building new buildings or additions or modernizing existing facilities, there are regulatory requirements set nationally, locally, and at the state level regarding vertical transportation systems. We understand that colleges and universities and high schools and elementary schools build and maintain many types of facilities, including research laboratories, art studios, utility generation and transmission plants, dormitories, and water-distribution systems. Some institutions also have specialized facilities such as medical centers, agricultural center, nuclear reactors, and high-security biomedical laboratories.
VTX® has a clear understanding of the unique requirements each of these facilities have in a campus environment. Dorm elevators are different from classroom buildings. Parking garage elevators are different from elevators in the library.

Location: Tucson, AZ
Provided construction administration and inspection services for the installation of one hydraulic passenger elevator in the Intercollegiate Athletics Facilities Additions and Renovations. The elevator is located in the new basketball practice facility for the nationally ranked University of Arizona Wildcats. The project also includes expansion to the Mary Roby Gymnastics Training Center and a new Diving Pool.

Reviewed design documents, established criteria of elevator needs and expectations, coordinated and advise the Labor and Industry Elevator Division of the efforts being exerted on the project. Surveyed existing elevator equipment and provided project team with elevator design options.
